Who we are
The controller of this data is PrivateEquityList LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“Private Equity List”, “we”, “us”). Contact: [email protected] · [email protected].Why we hold it
Private Equity List helps founders raising capital, advisors running fundraising and M&A mandates, and investors looking for co-investors find the firms that invest in their stage, sector and region, and the people on those firms’ investment teams. A list of firms without the people who make investment decisions is of little use to someone raising money. Listing those people is what makes the service work, and it helps capital reach the companies and funds that fit it. Our legal basis is legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): our interest, and our users’ interest, in a research service about the private-capital market that makes raising and investing capital easier. We hold only information about your professional role that you or your firm have already made public, and you can object at any time.What we hold
Professional information only:- your name, job title and role on the investment team;
- the firm you work at and the funds it manages;
- work contact details where they are public: work email, work phone, office city and country;
- links to your public professional profiles, such as your firm bio or LinkedIn page.
Where it comes from
Public sources: firm websites and team pages, public registries and regulatory filings, press releases and news, public professional profiles, and public directories. We also use corrections sent by firms and users. Automated and AI-assisted tools collect and structure this information, and our team reviews part of it. Some work email addresses are derived from a firm’s public email format rather than copied from a published page.Who sees it
Contact details are shown to paying subscribers of Private Equity List (founders, advisors, investors and researchers) on the website, in exports, and through our API and our MCP server for AI assistants. We also use service providers to host and run the database. A subscriber who contacts you does so as an independent controller and is responsible for their own outreach. Our Subscription Terms require subscribers to honour objections and removal requests and to delete a record when we tell them a person has asked to be removed.How long we keep it
We keep a profile while it describes your current professional role. We refresh profiles regularly. When we learn that you have left a firm or that a firm has closed, we update, deactivate or remove the record.Your rights
- Access: ask what we hold about you.
- Correction: ask us to fix wrong or outdated details.
- Removal: ask us to delete your profile or specific details.
- Objection: object to our processing at any time. We will stop and remove your data.
- Restriction: ask us to limit how we use your data while we look into a request.
