There are two ways to reach the Private Equity List investor and fund database programmatically. Pick the one that matches how you work, then follow the matching guide to connect.

MCP Connector

Search the database in plain language from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini, Perplexity, or any MCP-compatible client. No code required.

API Reference

Query investors and funds programmatically over a read-only REST API. Build your own integrations, dashboards, or data pipelines.

Which One Should You Use?

Use the MCP connector if you want to ask questions like “Find Series A fintech VCs in Europe” straight from Claude or ChatGPT.Use the API if you want to wire investor and fund data into your own workflows.

Before You Start

1

Confirm your subscription

The MCP connector requires an active Pro, Pro+, or Pro Max plan. The REST API requires Pro Max. Review options on the Plans & Pricing page.
2

Generate your key

Both integrations authenticate with a key — get yours at privateequitylist.com/settings/api-mcp. Keep it private — anyone with your key can query on your behalf and use your token balance.
3

Follow the matching guide

Head to the MCP Connector or API Reference guide to connect.
For security, both MCP keys and API keys expire one year after they are issued. If a key expires, generate a new one from your account settings and reconnect.
