# Connect Private Equity List to Your AI Assistant or App

> Choose how to connect to the Private Equity List database — the MCP connector for AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT, or the REST API for your own apps.

There are two ways to reach the Private Equity List investor and fund database programmatically. Pick the one that matches how you work, then follow the matching guide to connect.

## Before You Start

    The MCP connector requires an active **Pro**, **Pro+**, or **Pro Max** plan. The REST API requires **Pro Max**. Review options on the [Plans & Pricing](/account/plans-pricing) page.

    Both integrations authenticate with a key — get yours at [privateequitylist.com/settings/api-mcp](https://privateequitylist.com/settings/api-mcp). Keep it private — anyone with your key can query on your behalf and use your token balance.

<Note>
  For security, both MCP keys and API keys **expire one year** after they are issued. If a key expires, generate a new one from your account settings and reconnect.
